The New New Ports & Companionway Cover nearing completion!

The New-New Ports
So the new, more oval, larger ports arrived yesterday. The Sailor's Exchange in St. Augustine were very helpful after they shipped us the wrong/mismatched set of ports and no longer had any matching. They "upgraded" us with a brand new set of Bomar Flagship Molded Oval Ports. My wife had reservations about the new shape not as "birdy" as our Fox's old squinty eyed ones, but I'm going to love the extra light and air flow these babies bring!

The Old Ports

The cutout begins:

Thanks to the diamond encrusted jigsaw bit, the cutting went smooth!

Cutting Conquered!

That's one big hole! Something every boat owner tries NOT to do...
putting holes in the boat!

Looking good! More light, air and shiny!

The white trim looks great, too!

The Companionway cover Stacey has custom designed and created is coming along. We just have to wash off the chalk lines under the "diamond" style stitching and add the weight to the bottom then mount on the boat with snaps!

Tonight we bed the ports, wire up the new compass lights, mount the companionway cover, install net gear hammocks for towels, install tell tales on the mainsail, fix the mainsheet block and tackle to work better, get the cabin cleaned up and reload all the gear into the cabin.
