"Vacation's all I ever wanted..." and Go-Go we did, with Firefly the Fox in tow!

Our week with our Fox in the water was great! That little boat impresses me more and more every time we put her in.

Saturday morning we packed up and latched her on to our Ford Flex. She trailers so well!

About 5 hours later we arrived at Pontiac Marina in Pontiac, Missouri, Bull Shoals Lake. She sat nice and pretty next to our covered slip for our 1998 Bayliner 2452 "TimeOut".

The first of the week gave us some spirited sailing 10-15 knots, but it dwindled down to 5-8 by the end of the week.
This is our friend Tim's first sail! His mile wide grin should say how he felt about it!

Bull Shoals Lake is a tough, river channel shaped lake good for fishing and powerboating with lots of coves for anchoring but not so much for sailing. very few open bays, so we did a lot of tacking. It was good to get the family up to speed on sailing and to see how it works. They are all getting better and my wife really took to docking on her own, she seemed to "get" how a displacement hull glides in the water differently from a planing powerboat. and was able to dock perfectly by herself!

We towed the Fox a few miles down lake to a larger bay area but by the end of the week, the winds were really not very good. She towed pretty well at our powerboat's hull speed (6.6mph).

I think the sail looks a little baggy, blow out. I'm hoping a new main halyard will help haul up a little tighter. Any thoughts?

Time to swim and take beauty shots!

Seaward Sighting! We spotted this 32RK at the Bull Shoals Boat Dock named "Knot on Call"! It got a great conversation going about owning MORE Seawards...until we looked up the $125+ pricing! :(

Heading home

I look forward to this fall's sailing, more consistent wind. All in all it was a great week and I learned a lot about the Fox by keeping her in the water all week. No leaks, too! We did a good job rebedding and after two rain storms, and one washing, not a drop inside!!

We never got out night sail though :( too exhausted every day!
