Firefly daysail II & the lost weekend on TimeOut!

Well, more like an "ongoing mission" than just a day sail. Corey bowed out to hang with friends, so it was just Stacey, Rachel and I. We decided to head back to Degray Lake.

First we stocked up on ice at the Shell station off the freeway exit.

Then we headed toward Iron Mountain Marina to put in but the lake was up so high that the all of their ramps were closed, including the damsite spillway one!!

So we headed over to the State Park Marina. We were able to get good ramp clearance there again and proceeded to rig her for sail.

That was last weekend, this weekend we went up to Bull Shoals to visit our other boat "TimeOut". She needed some cleaning and our marina has yet to install water on our new dock :(  So we went over to the gas docks to annoy them by proceeding to use their water hose there, essentially blocking a gas lane. They had yet to respond to any of us on our dock about the lack of facilities, so I felt that this action was necessary. It worked, well, sorta. It annoyed them enough publicly to find us another slip to pull into and wash, but it also got them to state that they would be installing water over on our dock very soon. We hope this season!

Stacey enjoying sittin' and sippin'!
We went out for a nice run down the lake, stopped at Yoakum Cove to anchor for swimming and lunch. Grilled hamburgers on the new propane grille that stacey picked up, but the water was a little too cold for fun. We should be so lucky to have such a mild summer so far, but it's also nice to swim and not be freezing!!

We were having so much damn fun, no one thought to take any pictures until we were back at the dock.

But as often happens when you own a boat.... something breaks!

We started up the AC to test it out, get it dewinterized, etc. and the pump for it started spewing gallons of water into our bilge... cough up another boat unit!

Here I am in my new Tilley Hat, Father's Day 2013 gift from the family!
Oh well, at least we had rum punch, a good time and after stopping the pump, all was well, seacock closed for safety and we headed back to the house in Gainesville for more grilling and drinking fun!
